Carsten Krieger - Landscape photographer

Carsten Krieger was born in 1971 in rural Germany. He has always been interested in nature and with his first basic manual camera he documeneted his explorations in the fields and woods at the tender age of eight.

After graduation and military service he worked ten years on a paediatric ward for bone marrow transplantation. His work with terminally ill children shaped his repect for every living thing.

In 2002 Carsten fulfilled his dream and moved to Ireland where he began to work as a freelance photographer. Conservation work has always been an important part of his photography. Apart from supporting several conservation groups and highlighting these issues through his work, he has been working as picture editor for the magazine 'Rocky Road' and as a staff photographer for the Irish Peatland Conservation Council.
